The least we can ask for, kept only as long as it's useful, and never a performer's home address.
Last updated: 9 September 2026
What we ask for
An email address, a name or act/venue name, an approximate area, and the details you choose to publish about your act, venue or event. Nothing more is required to use GigArmy.
Never a home address
GigArmy does not ask performers for a home address and never displays one. Only an approximate area and a travel distance are used for matching, and street-level detail is filtered out before anything is shown.
What we don't do
No advertising or tracking cookies, no third-party ad networks, no profiling that produces legal effects, and we never sell your personal data.
Your control
You can access, correct, export or delete your data at any time by asking us, and unsubscribe from any non-essential email.
Who is responsible for your data
GigArmy is the data controller for the personal data described here and is based in the United Kingdom. For any privacy question or request, email hello@gigarmy.co.uk. If GigArmy is later operated through a registered company, that company's name, registration number and registered office will be published on this page.
What we collect and why
- Account data — email address and password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), so you can sign in. Lawful basis: performance of our terms with you.
- Profile data — act or venue name, act type, approximate area, travel distance, starting fee, description and any media you upload, so you can be found and booked. Basis: performance of our terms.
- Marketplace activity — gigs, applications, invitations, bookings, availability, messages, quote requests and reviews, so the platform can work and so both sides have a record. Basis: performance of our terms.
- Early-access registrations — name, email, area and a line about you, so we can contact you about launching in your area. Basis: consent, withdrawable at any time.
- Technical and security logs — limited request and error information kept by our hosting and database providers to keep the service running and secure. Basis: legitimate interests.
We do not ask for a phone number, date of birth, identity documents, bank details or special category data.
What other users can see
Your published profile — act or venue name, act type, approximate area, travel distance, fee guide, description, media and reviews — is visible to other GigArmy users and, for public listing pages, to visitors. Your email address is not published. Exact residential addresses and full postcodes are never shown to anyone.
A venue's public listing shows an approximate area to signed-out visitors; the full venue address is only shared with parties involved in a booking.
Cookies and analytics
GigArmy uses strictly necessary storage only: a sign-in session token and a small amount of local browser storage that remembers preferences such as your saved list and search settings. These are required for the service to work, so no consent banner is needed under the UK PECR rules.
We do not use advertising cookies, third-party analytics or cross-site tracking. If that ever changes, we will add a cookie consent choice before any non-essential cookie is set and update this page.
Who processes data for us
We use a small number of infrastructure suppliers under contract: an application hosting provider and a managed database and authentication provider. They process data only on our instructions. Data is stored in the UK/EEA or under appropriate safeguards where a supplier transfers data outside it. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Payments
GigArmy does not currently process payments and holds no card details. Performance fees are paid directly between the venue or host and the performer. If paid subscriptions are switched on, a regulated payment provider will handle card data and this page will be updated first.
How long we keep it
Account and profile data is kept while your account is open and deleted, or irreversibly anonymised, on request or within a reasonable period after closure. Booking, review and message records connected to a completed engagement may be retained for up to six years where needed for dispute or legal reasons. Early-access registrations are deleted once you ask, or when they are no longer relevant.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, a portable copy, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@gigarmy.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
GigArmy is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We will update this page when our processing changes, and revise the date above. Material changes will be notified in the app.
